San Angelo International Water Lily Collection

Posted on: October 17, 2013

In Civic League Park there is a beautiful water garden.  The sign tells how in 1988, Kenneth Landon joined with city officials to create this lily pool.  It is recognized as the best of it’s kind in the world.  I won’t try to describe the pictures, I’ll just let you enjoy them.

I wandered off following a path toward the river where the water from the lily pools emptied into it.

I retraced my way along the trail back to where it went up the hill to the rose garden.

I left the rose garden and returned to the lily pools where Ken so nicely picked me a flower.  We had a nice chat.  We were lucky to have him there to tell us about the garden.

Landscaping around the pools included Hibiscus and Lilies.
