Fort Croghan Day – Oct 12
Posted October 3, 2013on:
Never heard of Fort Croghan? It is in Burnet, TX just west of Georgetown. See the end of my letterboxing blog for additional pictures of the Fort. http://walksfarletterbox.wordpress.com/2013/09/30/letterboxing-in-burnet/
While we were talking to the staff at the Museum, they invited us to come back on October 12 to enjoy a special program hosted by the Burnet County Heritage Society. They have a website at http://www.fortcroghan.org
On the 12th from 9am – 4pm they will have reenactments with soldiers, Native Americans, and frontier men and women. Activities planned include demonstrations on making cane syrup, bread, butter, rope, candles, lye soap, quilting, spinning, and blacksmithing. There will be live music and MUCH more. The museum will be open with its interesting artifacts. The Burnet County Genealogical Society will also be there (from 10am-2pm) to help you with researching you family tree.
Fort Crogham is located at 703 Buchanan Drive (HWY 29). Free Admission and parking, but donations would be greatly appreciated!
